Nell'ambito dei P&E Coating Days 2026, in programma il 7 e l'8 ottobre presso il Kilometro Rosso Innovation District di Bergamo, giovedì 8 ottobre si terrà il corso di formazione "Sostenibilità – Recupero prodotti e valore dai sottoprodotti di processo".
Tre partner del Consorzio LIFE FOUNTAIN saranno attivamente coinvolti nell'organizzazione di una lezione dedicata ai PFAS.
Il partner A.I.F.M. - Asfimet, patrocina l'evento e figura nel programma del corso con l'intervento intitolato "PFAS nelle tecnologie di superficie: prestazioni, rischi e prospettive", a cura di Luca Magagnin, Presidente A.I.F.M. e docente del Politecnico di Milano (Partner Polimi).
Contenuti della lezione e dimostrazioni pratiche
La lezione, prevista dalle ore 11:00 alle 13:00 (all'interno del corso che inizierà alle ore 10:00), affronterà il tema dei PFAS (sostanze per- e poli-fluoroalchiliche).
Nonostante le loro eccellenti proprietà di idrorepellenza, oleorepellenza e stabilità termica, il loro bioaccumulo rappresenta una sfida critica per l'ambiente e la salute. L'intervento fornirà un quadro chiaro su struttura, impiego industriale, impatto ambientale e prospettive future di questi composti.
Un focus specifico sarà dedicato alle tecnologie di rimozione dei PFAS dalle acque, con la presentazione del progetto europeo LIFE FOUNTAIN, basato sull'uso di particelle magnetiche funzionalizzate per la bonifica di acque sotterranee e reflui di processo.
La sessione teorica sarà integrata da esperienze di laboratorio presso il Tech Hub R&D (sempre al Kilometro Rosso) di Gruppo Gaser, anch'esso partner di LIFE FOUNTAIN, con due dimostrazioni dal vivo:
- Applicazione di CERAKOTE®, rivestimento ceramico polimerico PFAS free ad elevata resistenza a corrosione, usura e agenti chimici.
- Dimostrazione di funzionamento del processo LIFE FOUNTAIN.

As part of the P&E Coating Days 2026, taking place on October 7 and 8 at the Kilometro Rosso Innovation District in Bergamo, the training course "Sustainability – Product recovery and value from process by-products" will be held on Thursday, October 8.
Three partners of the LIFE FOUNTAIN Consortium will be actively involved in organizing a lesson dedicated to PFAS.
The partner A.I.F.M. - Asfimet is sponsoring the event and is featured in the course program with a presentation titled "PFAS in Surface Technologies: Performance, Risks, and Prospects" given by Luca Magagnin, President of A.I.F.M. and professor at Politecnico di Milano (Partner Polimi).
Lesson Contents and Live Demonstrations
The lesson, scheduled from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM (within the course starting at 10:00 AM), will address the topic of PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances).
Despite their excellent water-repellent, oil-repellent, and thermal stability properties, their bioaccumulation represents a critical challenge for the environment and human health.
The talk will provide a clear overview of the structure, industrial application, environmental impact, and future prospects of these compounds.
A specific focus will be dedicated to PFAS removal technologies from water, presenting the European project LIFE FOUNTAIN, which is based on the use of functionalized magnetic particles for the remediation of groundwater and process wastewater.
The theoretical session will be supplemented by laboratory experiences at the Tech Hub R&D (also located at Kilometro Rosso) of Gruppo Gaser—another LIFE FOUNTAIN partner—featuring two live demonstrations:
- Application of CERAKOTE®, a PFAS-free ceramic polymer coating with high resistance to corrosion, wear, and chemical agents.
- A live demonstration of the LIFE FOUNTAIN process in operation.
